Today we are hiring a Remote/Hybrid, Substation Design Engineer for our client in Atlanta, GA.

An industry leader in power delivery engineering is seeking a Substation Design Engineer to serve as a technical lead on projects ranging from distribution to sub-transmission and transmission voltage classes. This is a hybrid role based in Atlanta, GA (3 days onsite, 2 days remote).

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead substation physical and/or protection & control (P&C) design efforts.

• Develop electrical engineering deliverables using tools such as CYME.

• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource planning.

• Interface directly with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.

• Oversee QA/QC processes and mentor junior engineers.

• Support renewable energy integration and grid modernization projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.

• Minimum 5+ years of HV utility substation design experience (69kV–500kV or EHV 500kV+), either in physical or protection & control design.

• Prior experience with a consulting engineering firm on utility substation projects required.

• PE license or ability to obtain PE within 1–2 years required.

• Strong project leadership and QA/QC experience highly desirable.

Please note:

• If you have less than 5 years of substation design experience will not be considered for hire with this role.

• Your experience should not be limited to industrial, manufacturing, or LV/MV distribution.

• If you're currently employed by utilities you maybe highly  considered if you also have strong consulting-style design experience.

Base Salary - USD $130,000 to $145,000
