Job Summary:
We are seeking an energetic and experienced Substitute Teacher to join our team! As a Substitute Teacher, you will supervise classes and work with teacher assistants and or Co-Leads. Your goal is to create a welcoming learning environment and provide students with the tools they need to reach their full potential. The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, and highly organized. This position is an on-call, hourly, part-time, or full-time shifts; we require flexible candidates. Shifts that may need coverage are 8-4:30 pm, 9:00-5:30. 9:30-6 pm, 12:00-6:00 pm, or 3:00-6 pm.
Responsibilities:
Arrive in sufficient time tothe assigned classroom, ready to work.
Follow lesson plans
Be an active supervisor, but at the same time an active participant in children's play.
Prepare any necessary learning materials
Become familiar with NY State Child Care Regulations and Center Policies.
Present a pleasant and helpful presence to the families of the children we serve.
Complete mandated trainings of 30 hours every 2 years
Report behavioral incidents

Qualifications:
Minimum of 18 years of age and a high school diploma
Previous experience with children between 18 month-5 years old
Understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and the ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
