Project Engineer – Utility Design & SUE

REC is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team, supporting SUE investigations and utility design projects across Colorado. You’ll manage projects from initial site assessment through municipal approvals, supervise junior staff, and coordinate with field teams and municipalities to ensure smooth project delivery.

What You’ll Do

Serve as the primary client contact for utility design questions and issue resolution

Review and mentor junior staff in developing utility plan sets

Manage municipal plan submissions and approvals

Identify when additional field investigations are needed

What We’re Looking For

Colorado PE (or eligibility via reciprocity) preferred

EIT certification required

2+ years of utility design experience

Local project experience a plus

Skills & Tools

Proficient with ground-penetrating radar, vacuum excavation, and other utility location equipment

Experienced with AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and/or MicroStation

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Comfortable managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $90,000 – $120,000
