    ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

    SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

    This job's primary purpose and contribution to the organization is to:  process accounts payable/receivables, create journal entries and perform account reconciliations.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    ·        Review invoices and pay vendors in a timely manner

    ·        Run and analyze reports from the payables for management

    ·        Balance the payables journal to the GL monthly

    ·        Resolve differences with vendors and/or buyers

    ·        Prepare special invoicing & tax forms

    ·        Prepare customer billing and reconcile all receivables

    ·        Contact customers regarding past due invoices and identify issues that prevent payment

    ·        Prepare month end journal entries

    ·        Reconcile accounts as assigned by the controller

    ·        Understands and supports all Company objectives and performs duties delegated by Management

    ·        Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, Email and Internet.

    ·        Demonstrates the ability and willingness to be a team player

    ·        Able to act quickly and show a strong sense of urgency

    ·        Regular attendance is an essential function of the position.

     

    NOTE: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred.  3-5 years Accounting experience required, including A/P, A/R, journal entries and reconciliations.  Experience with Excel and ERP required (QuickBooks and NetSuite preferred).
