    SumBridge is hiring an Finance Manager for a NON-PROFIT Seattle-based client who will be responsible for the accounting operations of the organization. This is a direct hire, permanent position offering competitive compensation, paid healthcare benefits and more. We’re looking for an “mission driven” non-profit leader to drive the accounting functions of a spectacular and growing educational non-profit organization. 

    *Please note, prior non-profit experience is required for this role, and strong preference will be given to candidates who have CPA or CMA credentials.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintain detailed and accurate records accounting and financial health of the organization
    • Prepare payroll, A/P, AR, prepare journal entries and complete reconciliations and tax payments.
    • Build the annual budget with guidance from the Executive Director, program phase directors, and board finance committee
    • Prepare schedules for auditors
    • Manage the organizations chart of accounts
    • Maintain insurance and property records
    • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including pledges receivable
    • Prepare regular reports for program phase directors, board finance committee, grants manager, etc.
    • Work with development team to make sure donations are properly recorded
    • Manage cash flow, including board restricted reserves, and donor restricted funds
    • Prepare work papers and documentation for the annual audit and tax return, including the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
    • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the nonprofit
    • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and accounting guidance
    • Intermediate proficiency with Excel, including formula writing and creating pivot tables
    • CPA or CMA Credentials
    • Financial audit preparation experience
    • Demonstrated skills and strong working knowledge of QuickBooks
