    DESCRIPTION:

    SumBridge is hiring a full-time role as an Assistant Compliance Officer for a client in the Bellingham area. This role will assist the Compliance Manager with administering the daily activities of the organization’s compliance program. The Assistant Compliance Officer is responsible for working with various departments and assisting with the company’s CRA program, performing compliance monitoring, completing risk assessments, and conducting compliance training. The person in this role will assist in making recommendations to policies and procedures, as well as consulting on new product development and service offerings. The Assistant Compliance Officer will also conduct compliance related research and analysis. A successful candidate will be able to carry out the full duties of this role as well as remain enthusiastic, with high ethics and professionalism.

     RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Monitor in order to analyze the level of compliance with various consumer protection laws and regulations as directed by the Compliance Manager
    • Assist with the administration and complaint process of the consumer
    • Assist with performing ongoing analysis of the organization’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) activities
    • Be proactive in making recommendations to management regarding policies and procedures
    • Assist Compliance Manager with regulatory examinations, audits and tracking
    • Manage and act as the systems administrator ensuring that updates are successfully performed in a timely manner
    • Assist Management in new product or service initiatives to ensure compliance with applicable Federal and State laws
    • Respond to inquiries from staff to provide guidance regarding compliance issues
    • Participate at the Compliance Solutions Team (CST), and act as the Chair in the Compliance Manager’s absence
    • Review disclosures, notices, forms and advertising and marketing materials
    • Perform compliance and regulatory research as assigned to analyze and interpret regulatory requirements
    • Create and perform compliance training for various levels of employees
    • Assist compliance department team members to accomplish the goals of the department
    • Other duties as assigned

     REQUIREMENTS:

    • College Degree preferred
    • High School diploma or equivalent required
    • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the financial industry, accounting, auditing and compliance or risk management preferred
    • Experience with mortgage lending and/or commercial lending compliance preferred
    • Demonstrates understanding of Federal and State laws and regulations
    • Demonstrates a high level of personal integrity with the ability to professionally handle confidential matters
    • Works independently and in a collaborative environment
    • Uses organizational and time management skills to efficiently set priorities and achieve goals
    • Strong project management skills
    • Adept knowledge of research and review processes and procedures
    • Establishes and maintains effective interpersonal relationships
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) and proprietary software
