    DESCRIPTION:

    SumBridge is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join one of our favorite South Sound clients. This is a permanent, full-time role with a high-performing accounting team, offers competitive compensation and benefits, and growth potential.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Analyze business activity and track accounting transactions in a way that aligns with GAAP and
    • Lead quarterly preparation and presentation of worker’s compensation trends and adjustments to senior leadership and our external auditors
    • Partner with team members in Risk Management and external actuary to understand the different programs by state, claim development, and other factors that impact accounting
    • Prepare monthly workers’ compensation journal entries related to the reserves, premiums, third party administrator fees, and branch allocations
    • Analyze and prepare the organization’s intercompany elimination entries for month-end general ledger close
    • Analyze and prepare journal entries and reconciliations for legal, audit and other accounting accruals

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BA/BS degree in accounting, finance, or related field (Required)
    • CPA or CPA eligible (Required)
    • 4+ years of accounting experience (some public accounting experience preferred)
    • Solid ethical and professional behavior
    • Able to handle challenging assignments
    • Solid experience and familiarity in accounting
    • Strong self-starter and motivated to produce high quality work
    • Strong interpersonal abilities across departments and within a matrix structure
    • Solid analytical skills to interpret accounting information in order to identify anomalies
    • Strong participation in making recommendations to process improvements and efficiencies
    • Comfortable taking professional risks that leads to value within the company
    • Has a strong interest in furthering career opportunities within the organization as well personal professional growth
    • Comfortable with learning and exploring new technology resources
    • Experience in workers’ compensation or insurance-related industry preferred
    • Experience in a multi-company SOX control environment is preferred
    • Large ERP system experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications with specific emphasis on Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
