    SumBridge is hiring a Sr. Accountant for a fully remote position with a well-established NFP Healthcare organization. The Sr. Accountant in this role will be poised well for growth into leadership and will participate in interesting and challenging work. Ideally, the Sr. Accountant will have their CPA and experience working in nonprofit or healthcare-based organizations in the past. This role will work on assisting with a systems implementation to Oracle, prior experience in this area would be preferred. This is a permanent, full-time role, fully remote (within the US) and offers competitive compensation and benefits.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations
    • Contribute to the month-end close through prioritization, automation, and other methods that will drive accuracy in financial reporting and reduce close days
    • Assist the Controller with any ad hoc research, clean-up, and reporting projects
    • Analyze and explain monthly balance sheet and income statement fluctuations and variances
    • Work with various departments to streamline data flow and processes
    • Drive process efficiency by developing expertise in assigned areas; identifying areas for improvement, and creating and implementing solutions that bring value to the team
    • This role will participate in some accounting systems work related to an Oracle (fusion) implementation.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
    • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
    • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles
    • Familiar with analyzing financial data and the ability to tell a story based on analysis
    • Ability to interact professionally and discuss (interpret) accounting topics with all levels of the organization
    • Comfort with problem solving and creative solutioning
    • Experience dealing with ambiguity and limited information in making decisions
    • Proven track record of process assessment and improvement
    • Certified Public Accountant (active CPA license)
    • Advanced knowledge of Oracle Fusion ERP and/or EPM
    • Solid understanding of project management fundamentals and tools
    • A strong desire to lead and mentor Junior Staff
    • Experience with not-for-profits and grant accounting
