    DESCRIPTION:

    SumBridge is hiring a full-time permanent role for a Financial Analyst with a not-for-profit client. This role would be in either the Spokane,WA area or Seatac, WA. This is a role that supports financial planning and analysis functions for the organization. The Financial Analyst partners with and supports program leaders to achieve positive results by helping manage and grow different programs. The Financial Analyst is responsible for planning, budgeting and forecasting. The role uses in depth analyses of all revenue, variances and cost sources to plan or forecasts. The Financial Analyst assists in developing cost accounting techniques and supports the management of costs. This position has a reporting relationship with one or more district directors and line of service leaders and serves on one or more of these teams as well.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Manages annual planning and quarterly forecast processes within given responsibilities
    • Analyzes contract and grant terms to provide financial alternatives to revenues and costs
    • Partners with operations to optimize performance and deliver on financial objectives
    • Supports timely and thorough solution-oriented analysis and insights
    • Supports and participates in negotiating contracts to ensure the financial interests of the organization are well represented
    • Implements standard key metrics and performance measures for key business initiatives to support performance and strategic objectives
    • Prepares financial modeling for new opportunities, new business developments, cost-saving projects, and other initiatives within the company
    • Develops and enhances financial models and financial planning and analysis processes to drive growth
    • Assists in developing in-depth financial analysis for trends across contracts, lines of service, regions, and key funders
    • Prepares financial analyses on special projects and strategic initiatives as directed

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Is system savvy
    • Interested in data and analyses
    • Proven analytical skills to translate numbers into strategy
    • Able to do advanced data modeling
    • Proven Microsoft Excel skills to design and evaluate complex scenarios
    • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP
    • Skilled in project management
    • Strong interpersonal skills and cares about the community
    • Skilled in connecting and partnering people together
    • Passion for improvement
    • Solid verbal and written communication skills
    • Minimum of 3-years of financial analysis and financial modeling
    • Minimum of 1-year experience in an organization dependent on contract-based revenue
    • Cost analysis or cost accounting experience
    • Experience with data modeling

    Experience Desired

    • Experience in a not-for-profit industry
    • Knowledgeable in government grant and contract revenue and cost modeling
    • Knowledge of process re-design and re-engineering
    • Skilled working with Tableau or a similar tool
    • Experience within the healthcare industry
    • FP&A system implementation

    Education and Licenses

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business administration required; Master’s degree preferred
    • Professional accreditation (current or past) as a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant or Chartered Financial Analyst desirable.
