    DESCRIPTION:

    SumBridge is hiring for a full-time Loan Processor with a client in the South Sound area. This Loan Processor role is responsible for providing administrative support for all mortgage loan processing and closing activities. The person in this role will ensure accurate and timely processing of residential mortgage loans in compliance with the company’s policies and market guidelines. Responsibilities include reviewing and verifying loan documentation to ensure data is complete from start to closing as well as meets guidelines. The Loan Processor will also review and analyze automated underwriting and documentation provided by borrower. This position works directly with underwriter and closer to make sure loans are accurately completed and delivered on time. Responsibilities also include final preparation and audit of all documentation needed. The Loan Processor will also clearly communicate loan status and distribute files to related departments and loan representatives and other involved parties. This is a permanent, full-time opening and would work remotely indefinitely due to COVID19.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for accurately verifying and evaluating the credit, employment history, income and assets of potential borrowers
    • Reviews new loan applications in accordance with loan requirements, bank standards, and related legal requirements and ensures processing functions are in accordance with policies and procedures as well
    • Reviews title and appraisals and obtains adequate applicable insurance coverage
    • Resolves loan application problems and assists loan representatives with addressing any loan issues including credit report problems, low appraisals, income documentation and high debt ratios.
    • Follows up with outside sources for outstanding documents for underwriting
    • Tracks development of information to ensure compliance with Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA guidelines along with applicable investor guidelines
    • Ensures all lending conditions have been properly met before closing and submits loans for final approval
    • Communicates status of loans to loan representatives and title company when necessary
    • Prepares files for closing and completes review forms adhering to strict timing requirements
    • Provides effective administrative support for mortgage loan closings
    • Accurately prepares preliminary, revised and final closing disclosures and reviews all closing documents for accuracy
    • Prepares appropriate documents and calculates closing figures
    • Schedules closing appointments with title companies
    • Responsible for verifying compliance with underwriting conditions
    • Underscores loans for disbursement after recording
    • Obtains and signs off closing conditions
    • Establishes and maintains effective and professional business relationships with customers
    • Professionally handles customers' requests and questions and informs customers of loan policies and procedures
    • Researches and retrieves information from closed loans
    • Maintains professional reputation
    • Establishes and maintains effective coordination and communication with staff and management
    • Distributes loan information to appropriate departments
    • Attends meetings as required
    • Stays up to date on policy and procedure changes
    • Actively and professionally sells company’s services
    • Maintains a high level of compliance and is expected to be familiar with legal and regulatory requirements

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • 2+ years’ experience in loan processing
    • Understanding of mortgage loan processing functions including FHA, VA, and Conventional lending
    • Knowledge of mortgage related requirements and procedures
    • Good verbal and public relations skills
    • Strong typing abilities
    • Good basic math skills
    • Able to use related computer applications
    • Good organizational, analytical and communication skills
