SumBridge is hiring a Senior Accountant for a full time position with a client in the South Sound area. This client has The Senior Accountant in this role will support the General Ledger accounting processing, maintenance and analysis. The Senior Accountant will assist in all of the month end, quarter end, and year end close processes, and be responsible to prepare journal entries and reconcile statements and accounts ensuring accuracy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports the VP Accounting and Assistant Controller in establishing and maintaining the accounting principles, practices, procedures within the company
• Supports in maintaining the general ledger for U.S. operations and foreign subsidiaries
• Supports month end, quarter end and annual close processes
• Performs account reconciliation and analysis to balance and adheres to GAAP
• Prepares complex general ledger journal entries with correct documentation
• Able to perform accounting and tax research in compliance with GAAP, tax and other regulatory requirements when handling complex issues
• Responsible for accounting and reporting of assets, monitoring projects, and reporting for multiple counties
• Responsible for maintaining inventory records
• Assists with budget and planning as well as external audit and review

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

• Minimum of three to five years’ experience in key roles in financial accounting
• Completed Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent field (business or finance)

Job Knowledge and Skills

• High level of computer software skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office
• Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Experience with accounting and taxes for consolidations and foreign currency translation
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Great interpersonal skills among a team
• High level of analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to identify issues and recommend a course of action
