Position Title: Summer Athletics Instructor (Elementary School)

Mindful Roots will partner with the Cucamonga School District summer school program to deliver Athletics classes for elementary students. This program will feature a series of daily rotating activities designed to introduce students to a variety of sports and active challenges. The daily rotations will include:

Soccer

Basketball

Dodgeball (using soft foam balls)

Kickball

Relay Races & Team Challenges

The primary goal is to keep students active and moving throughout the summer. Each class group will consist of approximately 25 students and will last for 30 minutes before rotating to the next group. The program will serve students in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade. Ideal candidates will be able to develop engaging daily agendas that keep students actively involved and motivated. Experience managing and maintaining engagement in large class settings is highly preferred.

Please note: The exact school location has not yet been assigned, but the program will be held at one of the schools within the district in Rancho Cucamonga.

Program Schedule: Dates: May 28, 2026 – June 30, 2026 (Tuesday's through Friday's)

Class Schedule Breakdown: Wednesdays & Fridays (8 total days, 5 class groups each day):

5th Grade: 8:30-9:00 AM

3rd Grade: 9:05-9:35 AM

2nd Grade: 9:40-10:10 AM

1st Grade: 10:20-10:50 AM

Kindergarten: 11:00-11:30 AM

Tuesdays & Thursdays (10 total days, 5 class groups each day):

4th Grade: 8:30-9:00 AM

3rd Grade: 9:05-9:35 AM

2nd Grade: 9:40-10:10 AM

1st Grade: 10:20-10:50 AM

Kindergarten: 11:00-11:30 AM

Compensation & Availability:

Hourly Rate: $40/hour

Availability required from 8:15 AM to 11:45 AM on each workday

Additional Requirements: All staff will be expected to complete TB screening and live scan background checks prior to start.
