    This role is ideal for teachers, school counselors, or experienced camp leaders who enjoy combining academic enrichment with social-emotional learning in a fun summer environment.

    The Summer Enrichment Program Director oversees the daily operations of our summer camp designed for rising Kindergarten through 4th grade students. This program provides exciting learning opportunities that nurture curiosity, confidence, and creativity in a warm, supportive environment where children thrive.

    The Director ensures that all students receive engaging academic experiences in reading, writing, math, and critical thinking, while also fostering social-emotional growth, confidence, and strong peer relationships. This role includes supervising staff, supporting classroom teachers, coordinating student interventions, and ensuring that accommodations and services (including speech, ABA, or other pull-outs) are delivered effectively.

    Dates: Planning Dates 6/17-6/18; Camp Dates: 6/22-7/31, (no session 6/19 and 7/3)

    Hours: Monday -Friday, 8am-3:30pm, lunch 11:30am-12:30pm

    Key Responsibilities:

    Program Leadership & Operations

    Oversee the daily operations of the Summer Enrichment program to ensure a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for children.

    Serve as the primary point of contact for staff, families, and service providers.

    Partner with teachers to ensure program goals—academic growth, creativity, and social-emotional development—are met.

    Monitor classroom activities to ensure high-quality instruction and positive behavior expectations.

    Staff Support & Supervision

    Provide ongoing support, coaching, and guidance to classroom teachers and instructional assistants (college interns).

    Facilitate daily or weekly team meetings to communicate expectations, review student needs, and address classroom concerns.

    Assist teachers with setting up learning materials, enrichment activities, and classroom routines.

    Student Support, Interventions & Accommodations

    Coordinate student observations, interventions, and accommodations to support individual learning needs.

    Work collaboratively with teachers to identify students requiring additional academic, behavioral, or social-emotional support.

    Arrange and oversee pull-out services including speech therapy, ABA therapy, or other specialized supports.

    Communicate with families regarding student progress, intervention plans, and service schedules (as appropriate).

    Safety & Compliance

    Ensure that all program policies, safety procedures, and health guidelines are followed consistently.

    Maintain documentation related to student services, attendance, incidents, and staff communication.

    Ensure appropriate supervision ratios and safe transitions throughout the day (arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, etc.).

    Family Engagement & Communication

    Build positive relationships with families and serve as a supportive, accessible resource for questions and concerns.

    Provide weekly updates to parents about program events, student support services, and enrichment opportunities.

    Support family orientation sessions and end-of-program celebrations

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field required; Master’s preferred.

    Prior experience working in early childhood or elementary education, summer programs, or enrichment settings.

    Experience supporting teachers, coordinating interventions, or working with specialists (speech, ABA, OT, etc.).

    Strong understanding of child development, classroom management, and differentiated instruction.

    Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

    Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and lead a positive, collaborative team environment.
