    GCHS is currently seeking to hire an individual to fill our Summer Groundskeeper position, who is a self-starter with a passion for working outdoors.

    Summary

    Landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. This position typically performs a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, etc. as well as other maintenance duties as assigned.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor.

    Maintains exterior lawn and gardens through watering, cutting grass, weeding, etc., utilizing power lawn mowers, weed eaters, and other yard equipment.

    Digs flower beds and plants flowers, cares for established lawns by weeding, grubbing, mulching, trimming, etc.

    Constructs decorative flower garden borders from wood and other materials.

    Washes windows and other exterior parts of the building.

    Empties trash cans and consolidates trash for weekly pickup; completes outdoor litter removal around the grounds.

    Paints interior and exterior walls and trim as directed

    Replaces worn or damaged parts such as hoses, wiring, and belts, in machines and equipment such as truck, street sweeper, and riding mower.

    Assists other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.

    Sweeping, maintaining concrete corners and concrete areas to ensure cleanliness.
