Our doors at Summit Academy North have been open for 20 years, educating students from Preschool through 12th grade. Located in Romulus, MI, our beautiful buildings are filled with over 1,200 inspiring students. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities, including academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other school staff to ensure that students with special needs are included in all aspects of school life
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction and interventions as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and services provided
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and needs
- Stay up-to-date on best practices and research related to special education and disabilities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education
- Experience working with students with disabilities, including experience developing and implementing IEPs
- Strong knowledge of best practices and research related to special education and disabilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of students, families, and colleagues
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.
