Summit Careers is seeking an Extruder Operator for a client in Branford, CT
RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN EXTRUDER OPERATOR
- Determining product requirements and customers’ specifications (i.e.: product, film type, color, width, gauge, and tolerances, Shop Order Work Instructions).
- Starting and setting up extruder equipment, slitting stations, and winders based on product and customer requirements; adjusting equipment settings to bring film into specified tolerances.
- Performing die changeovers and other general extrusion functions.
- Recording extruder set-up data and other information in the database; data must be accurate and complete.
- Verifying that the appropriate raw material, repro, and/or blended resin is selected/blended per formula.
- Operating all manufacturing machinery, equipment, fork trucks, and inspection tools correctly and safely.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a manufacturing facility is preferred. Experience with blown-film extruder operation, slitting stations, winders, and machinery requiring die changes and cleaning, is essential.
- Knowledgeable in the use and care of digital micrometers, hand gauges, rulers, and tape measures.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, speak, and understand written and verbal instructions in the English language, perform basic mathematical equations, and perform basic computer and data entry skills.
- Proof of full or in-process COVID-19 vaccination is required.
- Must be able to work overtime/weekend hours
- Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
