    Summit Careers is seeking a Human Resources Manager for a client in Middletown, CT

     

    The Human Resource Manager supports and assists with the implementation of new and current policies. They are partner to operations and helps supports safety and compliance, labor recruitment, retention strategies, compensation, benefits administration, and performance management.

     

    Responsibilities of the Human Resources Manager

    • Works with executive management on policy and company direction. Assists and advises managers about Human Resources and employee relations issues.

    • Oversees payroll, AR/AP and through the supervision of an HR Specialist

    • Familiar with federal and state employment laws. Continually works to stay up to date with latest regulations to ensure compliance.

    • Responsible for timely reporting of Affirmative Action Plan, yearly OSHA reporting, Equal Employment Opportunity report, and Family Medical Leave.

    • Company representative for unemployment, workers' compensation, and other investigations by knowing the laws, issues, and appropriate documentation.

    • Manages company benefits including medical insurance, 401k, and PTO. Ensures proper execution of state and federal leave programs. Complies with all HIPPA requirements.

    • Responsible for employee relation events including feedback sessions and fun events.

    • Manage employee relations to include management training, performance management, disciplinary actions, employee complaints, and employee anti-harassment to ensure fair and consistent treatment.

    • Manages internal documents like policy and procedures and employee handbook updates

     

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

     

    Education and Experience:

    • Associates Degree (two-year college or technical school)

    • 5 plus years of experience in an HR environment, PHR preferred

    • Proficient in Work, Excel, Power Point
