    Summary:

    This position will provide Cost and General Accounting support to Onsite Controller.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Support the Quality, Environmental, Health, Safety (QEH&S) policy, and strategic direction of the organization.
    • Developing standard costs; Annual process as well as daily for new items.
    • Conduct “Make/Buy” analysis for Management Team
    • Member Engineering Change Order team, measuring the impact of changes and following through until implementation.
    • Inventory valuation, reconciliation and management.
    • Lead annual physical inventory accounting effort.
    • Review and report daily cycle count process, providing analysis consistent with Physical Inventory Exemption (PIE) corporate requirement.
    • Management of Excess and Obsolete inventory; reserve analysis, research and journal entries.
    • Assist Controller with Annual Budget preparation for Operations, Labor and Overhead rate development as well as variance budgeting.
    • Review Manufacturing Work Order and performance variances daily and reconcile monthly.
    • Review and Analysis of other Operations variances (PPV, Scrap, etc.).
    • Calculate and book monthly Labor and Overhead absorption journal entries.
    • Work with manufacturing and engineering on process improvements.
    • Member of Finance Quality team and responsible for Quality initiatives surrounding COGS and Inventory.
    • Document local processes in compliance with corporate procedures.
    • Other duties as required by Division Controller.

      Skills / Equipment:

    • Must be a self-starter able to perform independently as well as part of a team.
    • Detailed oriented and accurate reporting skills a Must.
    • Must have strong accounting background in Manufacturing cost controls and accounting procedures.
    • Strong Knowledge of quantitative analysis and problem solving skills is required.
    • Computer - Word, Excel required, Access preferred, JDE (highly desired), SAP or Oracle
    • HFM knowledge preferred
    • Knowledge of manufacturing variance analysis is required.

       

      Educational Requirements:

    • Bachelors Accounting Degree highly preferred or equivalent.
    • 5+ years of Cost Accounting experience in an Industrial Manufacturing environment preferred.
