The Assistant Salon Director is required to work 35-40 hours per week, all of shifts are opposite of the Salon Director’s schedule, with exception to one recap shift a week.
The Assistant Salon Director contributes to Sun Tan City’s success by assisting in leading a team to create and maintain the Sun Tan City Experience for our clients. The Assistant Salon Director is required to regularly and customarily exercise discretion in managing the overall operation of the salon. In particular, a majority of time is spent supervising and directing the workforce, assisting in staffing decisions (i.e., hiring, training, evaluating, disciplining, discharging, staffing and scheduling), ensuring client satisfaction and quality of client experience, monitoring and motivating staff to achieve performance goals, handling minor maintenance issues, ensuring the cleanliness of your salon, and managing safety and security within the salon. The Assistant Salon Director is responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Sun Tan City guiding principles.

Directly responsible for cleanliness, maintenance, sanitation and organization of the salon
(Assistant Salon Directors are required to clean, maintain, and sanitize equipment, etc.).
Planning and Execution - Developing strategic and operational plans for the salon team, managing execution, and measuring results:
Monitors and manages salon staffing levels to ensure tanning consultant development and to achieve and maintain salon operational requirements.
Uses existing tools to identify and prioritize communications and regularly uses discretion to filter communications to the salon team. Communicates clearly, concisely and accurately in order to ensure effective salon operations.
Business Requirements - Providing functional expertise and executing functional responsibilities:
Ensures adherence to applicable wage and hour laws for nonexempt team members and minors.
Uses all operational tools to plan for and achieve operational excellence in the salon. Tools include labor guidelines, sales and operation reports, cash management and inventory management.
Utilizes management information tools and analyzes financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in salon performance.
Sales Development & Team Building - Providing team members with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective teams:
Actively manages team members by regularly conducting performance assessments, providing feedback, and setting challenging goals to improve sales performance.
Manages ongoing sales.
