    POSITION: Assistant Branch Manager

    REPORTS TO: Branch Manager

    SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

    Assist the Branch Manager in all aspects and function of branch operations. Perform all the managing duties in the absence of the manager including supervising the branch employees. Enforce strict adherence to established policies and procedures by all. Have the ability to assist in training employees and be able to explain products and/or services and their values, benefits, features, rates and fees to members, while maintaining the highest quality of member service.

    Ensure the Branch Staff represents the credit union in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner. Gives prompt, efficient, and accurate service in the processing of all transactions. Stays current with credit union membership requirements, deposit products, services, loan products, and marketing campaigns.

    Essential Functions:

    Process various types of Member requests and serve membership by providing excellent service and information in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner via telephone, email or other correspondence.

    Assist in performing branch audits, and monitor policy infractions.

    Participate in hiring, training, and supervising all branch employees.

    Responsible for branch operations in the absence of the Branch Manager.

    Monitor branch financial activities and manage cash levels.

    o Cash orders and processing cash orders

    o ATM/Teller Plus maintenance and balancing

    o Vault management

    o Assist managing title reports

    Helps Branch manager with coaching all branch staff in promoting products and services, member transactions, daily balancing, and meeting member’s needs.

    o Assist managing daily task checklists

    o Knowledge of SFCU products and services

    Examine, evaluate, and process consumer loans and services.

    Oversees staff and assists them with member transactions during peak periods.

    o Assist with overrides and wire transactions.

    Help keep staff informed of pertinent changes in operational policy and procedures.

    o Participates in conducting branch meetings and huddles.

    Prepares staff performance appraisals and disciplinary coaching’s as required.

    Assist the Manager and staff with Customer Relations (including issues and resolutions)

    Assist in monitoring inventory levels and ordering when necessary

    Assist the Manager in planning and developing production goals.

    Monitoring schedules and assist in maintaining balance with staff.

    Coach and support current staff and help in the transition of new hires.

    Monitoring the staff and the effectiveness of their positions.

    Understand the operations of the Branch and be able to oversee all aspects and departments.

    Must be able to step in as a Teller/FSR when needed.

    Must be able to work well with Customer complaints and handle them professionally.

    Must be able to operate the ATM and Teller Plus Machines.

    Must be comfortable with cash handling and auditing procedures.

    Ability to act as Manager at any time and perform all the duties of the Manager in their absence.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Computer Proficiency

    Education:

    High School Graduate or Equivalent (GED) required, an Associates or BS degree in Business or Finance preferred.

    Experience, Skills and Other Requirements:

    At least one year of palatable service.

    Must possess strong basic math skills, accuracy and attention to detail

    Must demonstrate an ability to understand and implement changing policies and procedures.

    Exceptional oral and written communication skills required.

    Must possess interpersonal skills including courtesy, tact, and diplomacy as they are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.

    Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, as well as use of internet and e-mail.

    Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

    Must successfully complete BSA training as required

    Employee must be bondable (insurable)

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and occasional Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Hours are subject to change at any time.
