    Job Description

    The Role

    Sunbit is looking for a world-class Strategic Finance Manager to be a key stakeholder in leading the financial planning and budgeting process, performing financial analyses throughout the company, and guiding management in executing its strategy. Over time, the role will evolve to help drive Sunbit’s capital markets efforts in evaluating, executing, and managing various funding channels for its loan products across institutional lending and investing platforms. This role will have a unique opportunity to work cross-functionally across all departments of the company, leveraging quantitative insights to drive superior decision-making. In short, this role will allow the candidate to build a robust knowledge base of the fast expanding Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), and payments sectors. It will also offer a unique operational experience in a high growth FinTech start-up.

    Job Description:

    Financial Planning and Analysis (1st Phase: Initial 6 to 12 months)

    • You will engage with business leaders across Sunbit and deep dive into the nuts and bolts of the Company to develop a robust understanding of the business.
    • Manage and enhance existing managerial reporting and dashboard capabilities.
    • Design, implement, and improve processes related to budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and analysis.
    • Design financial models while structuring data to facilitate easy analysis and scenario planning, and incorporate industry research to create insightful guidance tools.
    • Have a firm understanding of how product unit economics and Merchant Lifetime Value drives allocation of company resources.
    • Work cross functionally with other departments, including but not limited to product, marketing, operations, sales, tech / R&D, etc.
    • Comfortable creating and explaining analysis to management.

    Capital Markets (2nd Phase):

    • Monitor Sunbit’s asset backed credit facilities, including oversight of borrowing base and ensuring portfolio meets facility guidelines.
    • Construct various analyses evaluating the composition and performance of loan portfolios.
    • Generate and deliver financial reporting and diligence packages both internally and externally.
    • Over time, become a key contributor in evaluating and implementing new funding channels (loan sales, securitizations etc.).

    Other:

    • Continually collaborate with the data team to enhance our data infrastructure and data delivery mechanisms for both internal reporting and external reporting capabilities.

    Experience / Skills Desired:

    • Bachelor’s Degree: Finance, Economics, or other quantitative majors.
    • Minimum 3 to 5 years professional experience in a related field.
    • Excellent work ethic, attention to detail, and drive to contribute broadly to achieve team and company objectives.
    • Demonstrated outstanding financial leadership skills and expertise with an emphasis on translating financial insights into operational recommendations.
    • Ability and willingness to be hands-on and dive into details.
    • Extraordinary client service skills and ability to build rapport internally and externally.
    • Advanced Excel and written / verbal communication skills. Be prepared to demonstrate proficiency in Excel.
    • Experience at an investment banking capital markets group would be desirable.
    • Knowledge of a programming language and visualization platform (SQL; VBA; Tableau) would be desirable.
    • Experience with ERP financial systems a plus.
