    Job Description

    Sundance is looking for a talented and enthusiastic PHOTOGRAPHY PRODUCER to join our team. Sundance is a leading omni-channel specialty retailer with headquarters located in Salt Lake City, UT.     SUMMARY

    The Photography Producer works closely with the VP of Creative, the Director of Creative, and Art Directors. Collaborates with creative leads in scheduling and confirming freelance photography teams for locations and studio efforts. Researches and presents locations within budget. Manage budgets for all photography expenses. Research and confirm all travel, accommodations and itineraries for photography crews. Responsible for ensuring that all marketing/creative budgets are upheld. Travel for scouting and photography purposed will be required and may be extensive.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

    • Proactively research and provide visual and written presentations for both our fashion and hard goods location shoots. Present seasonal as well as brand appropriate properties that come in at or under budget. Knowledge of nationwide location scouts as well as other resources to assist in research. A proactive and resourceful manner to find locations in non-mainstream ways. Work closely with the VP of Creative, the Director of Creative and Art Directors in order to understand the overall look and feel for all photography efforts (location and SLC studio)
    • Attend turnovers for both fashion and hard goods in order to have an overview of the upcoming themes and overall aesthetics for upcoming shoots. Meet with creative leads to review shot counts.
    • Plan and coordinate physical tech/location scouts with creative teams as well as with 3rd parties (schedule appointments with point people, create itineraries for travel and appointments, book flights and lodging).
    • For location photography efforts, obtain all permits, permissions, travel/insurance/legal documents. Book travel, lodging, catering and any other specific needs for each effort.
    • Attend shoots as the on-site producer when necessary (requires travel for both scouting and location shoots). Work closely with non-Sundance producers as needed.
    • Coordinate in-house and freelance teams per the direction and approval of the VP of Creative, the Director of Creative and the Senior Art Director.
    • Prepare photography itineraries. When approved by creative leads, distribute to crews, agents, and talent.
    • Ensure that per diems (for location photography as well as for out of town freelancers working in our SLC studio) are prepared and distributed. Work with the V.P. of Creative to pinpoint best practice for distribution at specific location shoots.
    • Ensure tight expense control, and suggest any alternative options for budget efficiencies.
    • Code, submit and audit invoices submitted for all photography shoots
    • In partnership with marketing, VP of Creative, Director of Creative, and Art Directors, all are responsible for maintaining and meeting daily shot counts allotted for within budget.
    • Work with in-house and freelance retail teams in supporting the Retail creative/visual seasonal builds for use in Sundance stores. Book stylists, assistants and P.A.’s for this purpose.
    • Coordinate all necessary precautions for safety in the studio including but not limited to filling out forms, buying and distributing disinfectant and safety wear. Coordinate training for new members of other departments on Creative processes. Directs and maintains best practices for freelance.
    • Research new vendors and establish pricing as well as lead-time calendar dates with local set builders and fabricators. Negotiate budgets with vendors and be point-person to ensure sets are fabricated within established schedules and delivered on time.
    • Collaborate with art directors and stylists in our SLC studio when sets are being considered for shoots locally. Assist with preparation of set renderings to be provided to vendors.
    • Coordinate other creative photography needs, for example, model go-sees, discussing projects with new talent (photographers, stylists).
    • Oversee crews (production assistants as well as day-to-day photography crews) to ensure the SLC photography studio appearance is maintained.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Prior experience in producing photography shoots from A to Z as well as in managing budgets
    • Knowledge of graphics programs for creating presentations and excel for budgeting
    • Creative thinker with a positive attitude and professional demeanor
    • Experience managing budgets and invoices
    • Collaborative problem solving with the ability to provide viable solutions quickly
