Summary/Objective __

The Assistant Merchant assists the merchandising team in managing tactical merchandising aspects of the business. Supports the maintenance and accuracy of the assortment details and all record keeping and proactively communicates accurate product information to other departments. Supports pulling reports, business analysis, and ensuring the team meets all department deadlines.

Essential Functions

1. Work closely with the Apparel team to analyze business by preparing information for hindsight reports and boards for all merchandising meetings.
2. Supports team in compiling assortment facts and data and maintaining accurate information within internal databases.
3. Compiles assortment information in timely manner from Buying & Product Development to create line sheets to support catalog, retail and online assortments.
4. Compiles and analyzes sales and returns information and distributes to internal team.
5. Reviews catalog, website and email information on daily basis for accuracy, notifying team members of issues and/or taking actions as necessary
6. Reviews customer reviews for accuracy, action and keep manager informed of sensitive issues, and support Customer Service follow up.
7. Create and develop a comp shopping deck on a monthly basis, in order to keep senior team informed of emails, social media posts, or site updates that are relevant as well as trends seen in the market.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree preferred
2. 2 years of experience in online, retail or catalog environment preferred
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
4. Detail oriented, very organized and able to multi-task
