Analyze the logical and physical database models and ensure models are in accordance with standards. Generate and prepare reports to support business objectives.     The Data Governance and Data Management Analyst is responsible for supporting the establishment and execution of enterprise level processes, standards and tools to support data governance and data management for the Division of Medicaid Services (DMS). The successful candidate will consult with DMS on and facilitate the implementation of the following key aspects of data governance and data management:

    •Policies and Standards

    •Roles and Responsibilities

    •Full Lifecycle Data Management

    •Master Data Management

    •Data Quality

    •Data Definitions and Classifications

    •Data Security and Access

     

    Provide training and ongoing support to the various data management roles and groups , including the data owners, data stewards, data custodians and data governance committee members

     

    Assist in the creation and ongoing maintenance of metadata, including business glossary terms and attributes, data dictionaries and data lineage

     

    Improve data quality by creating metrics, establishing monitoring processes, tracking known issues, conducting root cause analysis, communicating updates and resolving issues

     

    Provide regular progress reports to Data Governance members, Data Management staff and key stakeholders

     

    Assist in the design, implementation and ongoing support of an enterprise data warehouse and business intelligence/analytics

     

    Participate in or lead data governance and data management meetings

     

    Assist in aligning DMS’s data management practices with other data management initiatives at DHS, where applicable, by attending meetings and events, standardizing tools and evaluating and refining processes

     

    Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or similar subject area

     

    Experience implementing or supporting data governance and data management standards, procedures and policies for a large organization

     

     

    Demonstrated success in supporting a data management framework that is aligned with industry standards and best practices and includes the following:
