Job Description

Our client, a leading medical devices company is looking for a SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER. This is for an initial duration of 8 MONTHS and is located in WEST SACRAMENTO, CA.

DESCRIPTION:

·         The Software Test Engineer will perform software testing of software connected to microbiology medical devices.

·         The Test Engineer will be part of the Software Test team and execute Verification and Validation tests. The candidate should have good experience and knowledge with software testing.

  RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

·         Setup test environment.

·         Execute software test cases.

·         Document software defects.

·         Perform test case and test result reviews.

·         Investigate software and system problems.

·         Create test cases.

·         Support of other project activities.

  REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Bachelor's degree in related field.

·         2+ years of software testing.

·         Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  DESIRED EXPERIENCES:

·         Experience testing software with a database and familiarity with SQL queries.

·         Test environment setup experience such as installing an OS, networking the PC, and connecting to instrumentation.

·         Experience with HP Application Life Cycle Management (HP ALM) tools for test planning, test execution, defect management, and requirements management.

·         Familiarity with one object-oriented programming language.

·         Experience with software development in a regulated environment (FDA, ISO 9000/9001).
