JOB TITLE: CYBER SECURITY ENGINEER DURATION: 20 MONTHS CONTRACT WITH POSSIBLE EXTENSION LOCATION: CHARLOTTE, NC OR DETROIT, MI (INITIALLY REMOTE LATER ONSITE, WHEN OFFICE REOPENS)

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Cyber Security Technology Engineer position at our financial client is a member of the Information Protection and Risk Management (IPRM) team and reports to a Director of Cyber Security Technology. The Engineer works with a team to design and implement technical controls and tools to meet specific security requirements and defines processes and standards to ensure that security configurations and tools are maintained.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 5+ years of a previous mail gateway experience

Highly technical and analytical expertise, with a proven deep background (preferred 5+ years’ IT experience in addition to cybersecurity) in technology design, implementation, and delivery.

Knowledge and experience creating and maintaining policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical documents

Experience configuring email and authentication (SMTP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, DNS)

Troubleshooting email in large and complex environments

Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 (O365) experience

Experience with Proofpoint Email Protection

Knowledge and experience creating and maintaining policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical documents

Ability to perform data analysis using standard office productivity software.

Ability to propose and implement creative solutions to eliminate malicious (e.g. phishing) and unwanted email (e.g. spam, "graymail")

Provide complex technical guidance, oversight, and enforcement of security directives, policies, standards, plans, and procedures

Cross-functional understanding of email operations, security practices and the user experience

Develop project documentation including detailed security plans, security architecture designs, detailed security implementation and deployment plans, test plans, and security-focused operational procedures and training materials
