Purpose of job:
To service vehicles by changing oil, greasing/lubricating, and to ensure fluid levels are properly maintained on a variety of vehicles in a safe and professional mannner.
Replace oil and air filters
Drains oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil.
Inspects fluid levels of power steering reservoir, transmissions, differentials, and coolant reservoir.
Injects grease into all accessible zerk fittings as needed using hand or compressed-air powered grease gun.
Checks air pressure of tires
Lubricates moving parts with specific lubricants.
Vacuum and clean windows in vehicles.
Inspec all vehicles for additional repairs needed.
Perform additional maintenance services; i.e. transmission flush, coolant flush, power steering flush and fuel injector service.
Running a cash register and bay computer systems
Cleaning areas of the shop and complete lot
Completing daily paperwork
Running deposits to bank daily
Other duties as assigned by Manager
Physical Requirements
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
Must be able to stand on hard floor for long periods
Must be able to work up to a 10 hours shift. Not all shifts are 10 hours shifts.
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 Lbs.
Must be able to climb a step stool or ladder
Must be able to work overhead
Skill Requirements
Must possess good customer relations skills and stay professional at all times
Ability to communicate with a varied range of people
Must have a valid and clean driver’s license
Must be able to drive a manual transmission
Must be able to work Saturdays
Must have basic math and money handling skills
Possibility of working a varied schedule
Ability to be creative and problem solve
1-2 years of experience as a Technician’s helper or apprentice in an automotive dealership or independent shop or equivalent preferred.
