Located in beautiful San Luis Obispo, SunWest Aviation is a flight school and executive air charter specialist.
FLIGHT SCHOOL Our flight school boasts a fleet of eight aircraft, and currently keeps four to six instructors on staff in addition to our office staff. SunWest Aviation Flight School is open 9am-5pm, 7 days a week. These are the hours our office is staffed; flights may occur at any time of any day given they are booked properly in advance. Maintenance doesn't need to occur during these hours, so A&P work hours are flexible.

THE ROLE
We are looking for a full-time and a part-time A&P mechanic (with A&P certification). This position works independently performing inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance on piston flight training aircraft. The successful candidate will possess the appropriate personality to manage themselves while maintaining a constant focus on safety and quality. Technicians will also possess the ability to adhere to the maintenance and manufacturer manuals, and make safety-focused decisions on a day to day basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform efficient troubleshooting, aircraft maintenance, and repair in accordance with applicable regulations, manufacturer's instructions, and company policies
Ensure consistent, accurate aircraft maintenance records by properly documenting & completing required forms, computer entries, and logbook entries
Follow all policies and procedures
Keep a clean and orderly work environment
Perform job duties in a safe manner
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Please- Current US Resident Applicants Only
Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
2 or more years of piston-powered aircraft maintenance experience
Knowledge of FARs and manufacturer manuals
FAA Inspection Authorization
PPL: Private Pilot's License
Avionics troubleshooting experience
