    Job description

    Freyssinet, Inc. is currently seeking a qualified Project Superintendent for our Virginia Region.

    The Project Superintendent will be responsible for the on-site execution, supervision, and safety of our repair division projects. They will be responsible for each project from planning stages through completion. This position requires extensive knowledge in general construction, concrete, structural steel and/or concrete repair work and the supervision of people.

    What You'll Do

    • Supervise and monitor all daily work assignments of job site crews.
    • Work effectively with Field Engineers, Project Managers, and Construction Managers;
    • Act as a strong safety leader at all times;
    • Ensure all project and company safety requirements are met;
    • Conduct weekly safety meetings and daily JSA meetings;
    • Conduct site safety orientation for employees working on project site;
    • Monitor and complete equipment inspections reports and take corrective action as needed;
    • Report all incidents, near misses and good catches on job sites in an accurate and timely manner;
    • Coordinate all safety concerns with site safety representatives of our clients, general contractors &
    • subcontractors;
    • Conduct and participate in safety audits;
    • Attend all scheduling and coordination project meetings;
    • Coordinate all equipment and material deliveries to the job site;
    • Report all site activities and timecards on internal software platform (TIPS) daily;
    • Coordinate travel of field personnel, lodging and approving crew expense reports;
    • Quality control with respect to specs and specific design requirements.

    Special Requirements:

    • Must be willing to work from project site up to 100% of the time and report to weekly and other periodic meetings being held at the Corporate Office;
    • Must have a valid driver's license and agree to MVR check in order to operate company vehicles or drive for business purposes;
    • Willing to work 50-55 hours per week and be flexible with work hours.
    • Willing to work whenever/wherever needed to fulfill responsibilities to help meet and exceed the company goals, including night shift, out of town work, bad weather conditions
    • Must be willing to work at heights in excess of 6 stories off the ground.

    Physical Requirements

    • Manual Dexterity – The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
    • Arm-Hand Steadiness – The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holing you arm and hand in one position.
    • Multilimb Coordination – The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
    • Static Strength – The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50lbs.
    • Performing General Physical Activities – Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving you whole body, such as climbing ladders/scaffolding, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, and handling of materials. Reaching Above Shoulders. Reaching Below Knees.
    • Handling and Moving Objects – Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
    • Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment – Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, etc.
    • Ability to handle and utilize various tools and equipment.
    • Crawling into tight and confined spaces

    Job Requirements:

    Skills & Abilities:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work well under pressure.
    • Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles.
    • Ability to read, understand and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans.
    • Thorough understanding of legal requirements relating to construction and building sites.
    • Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them.

    Education & Experience:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum 8-10 years experience in Construction Repair Industry.
    • Experience working on large concrete structures in the commercial, public, or industrial markets – including parking structures, bridges, tanks, airports, plaza decks, WWTP's, refineries, heavy highway, and power/utility.
    • Experience with Self-Performing Contractor (post tensioning, concrete repair, section enlargements, carbon fiber reinforcement, masonry, steel, waterproofing, mechanical or industrial), General Contractor, or Specialty Contractor.
    • Previous experience with a well-structured Safety Program.
    • Extensive out of town travel required for this position .
