    Healthcare Superintendent – Hospital Renovations

    Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida

    A well-established commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Healthcare Superintendent to oversee renovation projects within active hospital environments throughout the Fort Lauderdale area. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional who understands the unique challenges of healthcare renovations, infection control, and maintaining hospital operations while construction is underway.

    Please note: This position is focused on healthcare renovations and occupied facilities. Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to ground-up construction will not be considered.

    Position Summary

    The Healthcare Superintendent will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising renovation work within active medical facilities while ensuring patient safety, infection prevention, and uninterrupted hospital operations. The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing phased renovations and understands the specialized requirements of healthcare construction.

    Key Qualifications

    • Minimum of 5 years of superintendent experience on healthcare renovation projects.
    • Proven experience managing construction in occupied hospital environments.
    • Hands-on experience with containment setup and breakdown.
    • Strong understanding of Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) procedures and infectious containment practices.
    • Practical familiarity with negative air systems, dust containment protocols, and maintaining clean work environments.
    • Experience coordinating phased healthcare renovations while minimizing disruption to hospital staff and patients.
    • Working knowledge of abatement sequencing and renovation logistics.
    • Ability to effectively communicate construction phasing, safety measures, and operational impacts with hospital staff and project stakeholders.
    • Strong leadership, scheduling, and subcontractor management skills.
