SK ecoplant Americas is an environmentally focused company and a leading organization in the renewable energy sector. We provide comprehensive Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services, delivering sustainable and innovative infrastructure solutions across diverse projects. As our U.S. operations continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated accounting professional who is interested in building a long-term career with us.

    Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on, highly experienced Superintendent / Site Manager to oversee field execution and serve as the Responsible Managing Employee (RME) for our California contractor license (Class A – General Engineering and/or Class B – General Building).

In this role, you will be the primary on-site leader responsible for the day-to-day construction execution of utility-scale energy projects, specifically focusing on Fuel Cell installations and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This position requires a perfect blend of technical field expertise, subcontractor management, and regulatory compliance to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Field Construction & Site Management

Lead and manage all day-to-day on-site construction operations, ensuring project execution aligns with engineering designs and specifications.

Direct, coordinate, and supervise subcontractors, trade labors, and vendors on-site to maintain high-quality workmanship.

Track daily/weekly project schedules, look-aheads, and progress reports, proactively resolving field bottlenecks or delays.

Oversee site logistics, material deliveries, and heavy equipment mobilization.

    1. Contractor License & RME Compliance

Serve as the designated Responsible Managing Employee (RME) for the company's CSLB licensing.

Maintain active, everyday involvement and oversight of construction operations as required by CSLB regulations.

Interface directly with local building officials, inspectors, and utilities to secure necessary permits, sign-offs, and final inspections.

    1. Safety, Quality & Risk Management

Enforce a zero-injury safety culture on-site, ensuring strict compliance with OSHA standards and corporate safety protocols.

Conduct regular Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) inspections to prevent rework and ensure compliance with California building/electrical codes.

Manage field-level change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and technical disputes with sub-contractors.

    1. Stakeholder Coordination

Act as the primary technical point of contact on-site for project managers, clients, engineers, and utility representatives.

Provide regular, accurate field progress updates to the corporate leadership team based in Irvine.

    Qualifications

    Required

10± years of direct field experience in construction management, serving as a Site Superintendent/Manager, or Project Engineer.

Fully qualified and willing to act as the RME for a CSLB Class A (General Engineering) and/or Class B license.

Ability and willingness to travel or be stationed at field sites (e.g., San Jose, CA, or other project locations) up to 70% of the year.

Strong ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical schematics, civil blueprints, and structural drawings.

Must be a full-time W-2 employee of SK ecoplant Americas.

Must maintain a direct, hands-on presence on-site/in-office to satisfy CSLB RME requirements.

    Preferred

Proven track record of successfully delivering Energy/Utility infrastructure projects, with specific, hands-on experience in Fuel Cell systems or BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems).

Bilingual Skills: Fluency in both English and Korean (written and verbal) is highly preferred to support seamless communication and collaboration with global teams and headquarters.

Experience working with top-tier energy EPC firms or major general contractors in the US.

    OSHA 30-Hour Certification.

Experience managing fast-track, multi-site rollout projects.
