  • Responsibilities

    Butterfly Staffing is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent for this Direct Hire opportunity on behalf of our commercial and federal construction client. This role is responsible for overseeing all job site construction activities, ensuring timely, safe, and compliant project execution. The right candidate will bring a strong background in supervising federal and commercial construction projects and have a solid understanding of EM 385-1-1 safety requirements and contract specifications.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate and supervise all on-site construction activities

    • Maintain and update project schedule; prepare detailed 3-week look-ahead schedules

    • Lead and attend coordination/scheduling meetings with project team members

    • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards

    • Implement and maintain the site-specific Safety Plan; rectify jobsite hazards immediately

    • Coordinate safety inspections with corporate safety team

    • Support the Quality Control Management Plan

    • Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure high-quality workmanship

    • Order materials and schedule inspections throughout the project

    • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant job site

    • Conduct and coordinate final inspections with government contracting personnel

    • Prepare and supervise completion of the final punch list

    • Maintain strong working relationships with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 10 years of experience supervising commercial and federal construction projects

    • OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR certifications (required)

    • USACE CQC certification (preferred)

    • Experience with Army Corps Safety Manual EM 385-1-1

    • High school diploma or equivalent (required); BS degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred)

    • Valid Driver’s License

    • Willing and able to relocate to Norfolk, VA before starting work (required)

    • At least 5 years of Department of Defense (DoD) project experience (required)
