This position requires the Monitor to sit and observe court-ordered visits between a foster child and the foster child's biological family. The Monitor plays a critical role in ensuring the visit between the foster child and the foster child's biological family is safe, respectful, and nurturing. The Monitor serves as a neutral presence, documenting the visit and ensuring the visit is safe. The responsibilities of the Monitor include:
Ensuring the family signs the sign-in log
Accurately documenting the entire visit, using clear, factual, and objective language
Submitting the documentation at the end of the visit
Ensuring the visitation room is organized, clean, and free of hazards prior to the start of the visit
Actively observing the entire visit
Ensuring the visitation room is cleaned after each visit
Maintaining professionalism at all times
Must adhere to State and all ethical guidelines
Maintain strict confidentiality
Must be punctual
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
Reliable transportation
An email account
A minimum of six months experience in a social services or human services environment; serving adults, children, and/or families
Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills
