Supervisor of Nursing – CICU (Full-Time Night Shift) Location: Mission Viejo, California Base Salary: $141,294 – $223,100 Employment Type: Full-Time | Night Shift
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Supervisor of Nursing – CICU to provide leadership and oversight for our Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) in Mission Viejo, CA. The Supervisor of Nursing works under the direction of the Nurse Manager, Director, or Executive Director and is responsible for overseeing unit activities and personnel, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and maintaining efficient, cost-effective service.
The CICU is a 27-bed critical care unit specializing in pre- and post-operative cardiac patients, cardiomyopathy patients requiring mechanical circulatory support, heart failure, post-MI care, and complex cardiac procedures. Clinical expertise includes management of IABP, Swan-Ganz, CRRT, TTM, DKA, pacemakers, severe sepsis, and respiratory failure.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the CICU nursing staff.
Provide leadership and support to staff to ensure high-quality, patient-focused care.
Monitor unit performance, staffing, and patient care outcomes.
Implement and uphold hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.
Facilitate communication between staff, physicians, and leadership.
Support professional development and mentorship for nursing personnel.
Adhere to ANA Nursing Administration: Scope and Standards of Practice.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license upon hire.
National Provider BLS certification (American Heart Association) upon hire.
One professional certification in a related area.
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience in an acute care (hospital) setting.
Experience as a Charge Nurse or Relief Charge Nurse.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Nursing.
Leadership experience in critical care or ICU.
Compensation and Benefits
Base Salary: $141,294 – $223,100 annually (based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity).
