Under general supervision and reporting to the VP of Quality Operations, the Supply Chain Improvement Project Manager serves as a vital link between SMS and our Prime Aerospace customers. The primary goal of the Supply Chain Improvement Project Manager is to achieve benefits from standardizing and following project management processes, policies, and methods. The Supply Chain Improvement Project Manager will have oversight, coordinate, and track actions from the following activities: site account reviews, business reviews, executive champion interaction, supplier letters, supplier audits, supplier development initiatives, and quality assessments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
• Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them
• Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
• Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
• Communicating with leads, managers, and executives to keep the project aligned with their goals
• Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
• Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change
• Oversight of high profiled supplier program
• Coordination of communications and activities with internal and external stakeholders
• Track open and closed issues, concerns, and actions 
• Compile and archive supplier interaction documents  
• Publish monthly supplier activities summary  
• Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

• Microsoft Office software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to pass background and drug screen
• Vision exam is required prior to hire. Requirements are as follows:•The General Vision Acuity Test shall be performed by an Oculist, Optometrist or other professionally recognized person. The following requirements shall apply.
• Near Vision – Eyes meets Orthorater 8 (95% or Jaeger #2 at 12 inches)
• Far vision – Eyes meets Orthorater 4 (76%) or Snellen Chart 20/50
• Color Perception – 6 of 9 Orthorater plates

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Post-secondary degree and 5+ years of experience
• Experience in developing a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
• Experience in managing changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
• Experience in measuring performance using appropriate project management tools and techniques
• US or International citizenship or permanent residence status required depending on work location.
• Fluent English – reading and writing is required
• Pass pre-hire background check including DMV and credit screening
• Pass Pre-hire Drug Screening
• Reliable transportation - must have current/active drivers' license

OFFICE / SEDENTARY REQUIREMENTS

• Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.  Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.

MANUFACTURING / NON-SEDENTARY REQUIREMENTS

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each workday doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb.  May have possible exposure to dust and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds 33% - 66% of the time.
