Supply Chain & Distribution Specialist – Madison Heights, MI

This is an exciting time to join Ionbond as we continue to grow our cutting-edge technical services in PVD coatings. We are expanding our purchasing department and seeking a Supply Chain & Distribution Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting the Purchasing Manager, tracking and reporting inventory control, and assisting both internal and external customers. You will also provide administrative support and updates to the U.S. Purchasing Team. What defines this job?

• Oversee inventory control of components and spare parts at U.S Plants.
• Implement and align logistics control across the U.S. region while tracking and reporting inventory KPIs.
• Support the onboarding and maintenance of new and existing vendors within the ERP system as needed.
• Manage and coordinate U.S. document control libraries to ensure compliance with audit and quality requirements.
• Conduct improvement projects for supply chain distribution and purchasing optimize costs and supplies.
• Handle purchase orders (Pos), liaise with vendors to ensure timely deliveries, and resolve any issues, while maintaining clear communication with internal customers as needed.
• Other Duties as assigned or as apparent, taking initiative to complete improvement projects within the department as needed.

What do we ask?

The preferred candidate will have earned a degree from an accredited college; High School diploma is required minimum education. A minimum of two years of experience in inventory management and international shipping within a manufacturing environment is preferred. Knowledge of PVD, CVD, PACVD, and other industrial equipment is a plus. Candidates should have experience handling both domestic and international shipments, as well as technical sales and customer service experience with industrial accounts. Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic office tools such as PCs, email, and internet applications. The ability to read blueprints, strong attention to detail, and excellent planning and organizational skills are also required. Experience with ERP systems is preferred, particularly Microsoft Navision. Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. and pass a background check and physical screening.
