Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Supply Chain Manager to develop, expand, and manage our U.S.-based build-to-print and build-to-spec supplier base in support of complex defense production programs. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role, requiring deep expertise in sourcing and managing custom-engineered components. The successful candidate will build strong supplier partnerships in precision fabrication, machining, electronics, and complex assembly work to ensure high-quality and timely production.
Minimum Requirements:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management within defense, aerospace, or space manufacturing industries
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field
- Demonstrated success in developing and managing build-to-print and build-to-spec (custom pieces) suppliers for precision manufacturing or engineered systems
- Strong understanding of supply base development, sourcing strategy, and cost optimization with US Suppliers
- Expereince writing SOPs for new processes
- Strong knowledge of U.S. government procurement regulations (ITAR, FAR/DFARS).
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills
- Track record of successful supplier localization and risk mitigation initiatives
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, supplier performance tools, and sourcing analytics
- U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with defense OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, etc.
- Familiarity with mechanical/electromechanical assemblies, machining, or electronics integration
Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and develop U.S.-based suppliers for build-to-print (BTP) and build-to-spec (BTS) components
- Lead sourcing strategies to grow and strengthen the domestic manufacturing base for subassemblies and materials
- Partner with engineering, quality, and operations teams to align supplier capabilities with technical requirements
- Oversee supplier qualification, onboarding, and performance improvement in quality and delivery
- Develop and manage supplier scorecards, metrics, and cost-control initiatives
- Negotiate supplier pricing, terms, and long-term agreements to achieve optimal cost, quality, and delivery
- Support the make-vs-buy analysis and implement dual sourcing strategies for risk mitigation
- Collaborate on new program launches, prototype builds, and production ramp-ups
- Ensure all suppliers comply with U.S. government sourcing and export control regulations
