    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The purpose of the Supply Chain Rotational Program is to provide a 6-month rotational experience for entry-level Supply Chain Team Members to prepare them for the Indirect Procurement Sourcing Analyst role. Trainees will rotate through strategic areas of Signet’s Supply Chain, learning functional responsibilities and receiving hands-on, project based-experiences within Indirect Procurement (Strategic Sourcing, Procurement Operations, Program Management Office) and Distribution & Logistics. Trainees will also receive real world training, leadership development, networking opportunities and mentorship.

    THIS PROGRAM IS A HYBRID OPPORTUNITY REQUIRING INDIVIDUALS TO BE LOCAL TO AKRON, OHIO.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Apply skills and knowledge learned through the various rotations to perform the role of Sourcing Analyst which may include, but are not limited to,

      • In collaboration with Category business teams and guidance of Procurement Management: Prepare RFP and send to Vendors, Review RFP Submission and Short List Vendors, Negotiate with Select Vendors, Execute Contracts, Develop Transition Plan

      • Calculate current category spend and analyze incoming proposals against the baseline to determine savings based on different award scenarios

      • Assist with projects to ensure the sourcing event meets its deadline, achieves maximum savings and minimizes risks.

      • In collaboration with Procurement Management, Category business teams and Finance, continuously looks for new savings opportunities, process improvements, and supplier compliance in existing contracts (e.g. receiving rebates, pricing, terms, SLAs, etc.)

      • Effectively manage key supplier relationships, including supporting benchmarking and ongoing performance measurement activities as needed.

      • Analyze market space to identify potential suppliers for sourcing efforts, including support of Signet’s Supplier Diversity goals.

    • Learn to support field operations in the retail industry, especially as it relates to Signet Jewelers by assisting Supply Chain teams in all supported areas including fulfillment of store supplies and jewelry replenishments.,

    • Responsible for leading and developing a Capstone project to be presented to Senior Leadership that demonstrates innovation and showcases key skills learned during the program.

    • Work with an assigned Rotational Program Mentor to deepen business and role knowledge while pursuing professional development through hands-on learning

    ROTATION OVERVIEW

    Trainees will experience three core rotations, as well as an intensive final rotation.

    ROTATION 1: INDIRECT SOURCING

    The candidate will become familiar with Signet’s 7-Step Sourcing process by supporting a Procurement Lead with an active competitive project. This may include gathering and analyzing usage and spend data, partnering with stakeholders to define requirements, creating RFP documents to be sent to suppliers, analyzing supplier responses, participating in negotiations and/or contract executions.

    ROTATION 2: PROCUREMENT OPERATIONS & PMO

    The candidate will be responsible for learning Procurement technology by creating spend analytic dashboards and reports, routing contracts through the Contract Lifecycle Management tool, and more. Additionally, will be responsible for supplier management by setting up new suppliers within SAP, creating POs, and processing invoices.

    ROTATION 3: DISTRIBUTION & LOGISTICS: MANUFACTURING

    The candidate will spend time learning about Signet’s Global Digital Supply Chain Operations, which will include brief rotations through the following functions: Flexible Fulfillment, Data Analytics, Distribution, Diamond Room, Jewelry Manufacturing, and Logistics. The focus of these rotations will be to understand Signet’s full Supply Chain function and how work completed in Indirect Sourcing/Procurement relates to our other functions. Job responsibilities will include review of pick process, ecommerce fulfillment, reporting and monitoring of flexible fulfillment operations, among others. Will be involved in creating reporting and completing hands-on operational tasks as assigned.

    ROTATION 4: RETURN TO INDIRECT SOURCING

    The candidate will return to Indirect Sourcing and will build upon knowledge gained during Rotation 1 by continuing through the 7-Step Sourcing process, learning project management techniques, project and savings reporting, project close out responsibilities, and more.

    The ideal candidate for this role:

    • Is eager to continuously learn, able to apply direction and coaching

    • Has strong analytic skills to calculate current category spend and analyze incoming proposals

    • Able to act independently

    • Takes a proactive approach to solving complex projects

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :

    EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field.

    REQUIRED OR ACCEPTABLE JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE:

    • Previous experience in a supply chain-related internship is desired, but not required.

    • Ability to think strategically and align goals with department and corporate strategy.

    • Analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills and abilities.

    • Effective relationship building, communication (both verbal and written), and presentation skills.

    • Strong time management and organizational skills.

    • Negotiation skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally.

    • Experience leveraging multiple Sourcing tactics/strategies, including leading RFx processes, auctions, sole/single source negotiation, and ZBX analysis.

    • Familiarity and experience with 7-Step Sourcing process.

    TECHNICAL/OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • Advanced experience using Microsoft tools particularly Excel and PowerPoint in support of sourcing activities.

    • Strong data analytics capabilities and financial acumen.

    • Familiarity with e-Procurement technologies (e.g. SAP, Ariba, GEP, Oracle, Coupa) , including contracts management, eSourcing (including auction formats) and spend analytics, a plus

    THE SALARY RANGE FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY IS $50,000-$60,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience, among other factors.
