Supply Chain Specialist - Plastics and Polymers - Base Salary to 85k/year - Los Angeles, CA
• Our client, a Plastic Film Manufacturer, is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to coordinate inbound and outbound planning of material flow. The Supply Chain Specialist is expected to maintain accurate inventory records and work with raw materials and distribution teams to ensure continuous flow of materials.
In this role, the Supply Chain Specialist will collaborate with Supply Chain, Sales, & Operations to address gaps to plan and communicate risks and resolutions to stakeholders. The Supply Chain Specialist will schedule day to day inventory movement including receiving, material flow, & work in progress inventory. The focus is on efficiency, timeliness, quality and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate inbound and outbound material flow for ocean, air, rail and road deliveries
Facilitate internal logistics and routing movements throughout operations process
Ensure accuracy of inventory from receiving, staging, transfers and goods issue in the ERP system.
Verify accuracy of the bill of materials and suggest changes.
Analyze MRP reports and define procurement plans to satisfy demand.
Collaborate cross-functionally with the Planning, Quality, Customer Service and Production, to control and align physical and ERP system transactions
Maintain accurate inventory levels
Coordinate with Quality department for non-conformance and sorting of raw materials, WIP and finished goods.
Implement and manage, effective inventory cycle count program, input data into ERP system for accurate record keeping.
Assess warehouse storage facility requirements for optimal use of floor and vertical space throughout facility.
Conduct root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies and develop appropriate procedures to prevent recurrence.
Act as a liaison between sales, purchasing and planning departments to determine stressed, obsolete and aged inventory, optimizing inventory turnover and asset utilization.
Define inventory levels coordinating with master scheduling, forecasting and logistic constraints.
Coordinate scheduling and traceability with domestic and international freight forwarders.
Analyze MRP reports on a daily/ weekly basis.
Define procurement plans taking in account multiple factors (cost, storage capacity, lead time).
Identify risks of shortages and their impact to operation.
Lead and/or support key improvement projects aiming at digitalization of supply chain processes
Qualifications:
4 year college degree from accredited school or may consider experience in lieu of degree
Excellent ERP, Microsoft Excel, Access database or equivalent knowledge
Effective interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to work in and promote a team environment
Effective organizational skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
Ability to effectively communicate across all levels within the organization, suppliers, and others as needed.
Compensation:
Compensation for this role includes a base salary up to 85k/year. Our client also offers competitive health and life benefits & 401k.
