Support Aide/Floater (28 hrs/week, 7:30 am - 1:30 pm)
The MSD Support Aide (Floater) works on campus to support the teaching teams in MSD’s programs across all age levels, including Auxiliary Programs and the Administrative office as needed. The Support Aide (Floater) aims to develop an understanding of the Montessori educational philosophy and assists in creating a safe, nurturing Montessori environment that fosters children's independence, critical thinking, and love for learning. The Support Aide assists in ensuring the classroom operates with minimal disruption to schedules, program objectives, and the comfort of the children. When the Support Aide (Floater) is not required to be in ratio in any of the classrooms, the Support Aide may work under a Lead Teacher’s direction to supervise a small group activity or support a child who needs one-on-one attention. Other duties include preparing materials, setting up activities, processing laundry and dishes, general cleaning and organizing, and supporting the Office Manager, as directed.
Flexibility is key since the Support Aide may work in different classrooms and at different age levels throughout the day, as well as supporting the Administrative office.
Previous Montessori experience or credential is strongly preferred.
Pay rate = $20/hour ($19 if no prior Montessori experience)
Hours are 7:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (until 3:00 p.m. 1 day a week)
This is a 10-month (August - May) position. Opportunities for continued work in the summer are available.
