Supported Employment and Educational Specialist/Milieu Counselor
Holyoke, MA Full-Time
Pay Rate: $21-$22 per hour
The Supported Employment and Educational Specialist / Milieu Counselor is a dual-role position responsible for establishing and maintaining activities to develop, locate, and secure job openings for clients in the Prevention and Recovery in Early Psychosis (PREP) program. This role involves coordinating job resources, conducting site visits, providing application support, and performing related duties. The milieu counselor component includes managing the therapeutic environment, facilitating group sessions, providing one-to-one interactions, conducting outreach services, providing transportation, and supervising clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain relationships with local employers to identify and secure job opportunities for PREP clients.
Conduct job site assessments and make recommendations for suitable job placements.
Assist clients with job applications, resume building, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
Coordinate job resources and provide ongoing support to ensure client success in employment.
Monitor client progress in employment settings and provide feedback and coaching as needed.
Facilitate workshops and training sessions focused on employment readiness, vocational skills, and educational advancement.
Maintain detailed records of client interactions, job placements, and progress reports.
Collaborate with other team members to integrate employment services with clinical care plans.
Manage the therapeutic milieu to ensure a safe and supportive environment for clients.
Facilitate group therapy sessions, skill-building activities, and recreational programs.
Provide transportation for clients to job sites, appointments, and group activities as needed.
Supervise clients during program activities and ensure adherence to program rules and guidelines.
Assist in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to case discussions.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, incidents, and interventions.
Attend MAP and other program related meetings and trainings
Qualifications:
High school or equivalent education required. Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience in supported employment, vocational rehabilitation, or a related field ideal.
Experience in mental health related field. Work with young adults experiencing early psychosis is highly desirable.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
