Responsibilities:
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and customer quality requirements and leading an active quality and process improvement program
- Supervising the quality technicians, quality leaders, and quality supervisor, daily
- Implementing product and process data collection and on-line monitoring
- Assisting the Site Coordinators, Plant Managers and Operations Supervisors, Technical and Field Services resources, and Sales group in order to meet the quality expectations of the customers
- Evaluating and redesigning processes to improve overall performance and reduce waste in all forms
- Managing the Plant Management System including registration to ISO 9001, document control, corrective and preventive action, and auditing
- Monitoring plant performance and compliance and assisting as needed:
- Monitoring plants’ adherence to standardization initiatives
- Monitoring Best Practices library to ensure compliance
- Monitoring Power Tools initiatives including leading cross-functional improvement teams
- Improving lab procedures and test methods via the Lab Standardization Team
- Identifying and leading the implementation of quality and process improvements
- Resolving customer complaints regarding defective material
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and customer quality requirements
- Coordinating disposition of defective material
- Working with lab associates to meet plant and company objectives
Skills:
- 5+ years’ experience of applicable quality and manufacturing management, a Bachelor’s degree (Engineering or Chemistry is preferred)
- Proven ability to identify and lead the implementation of meaningful quality and process improvements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization and also with suppliers and customers
- Experience in achieving and maintaining ISO certification is desired
- Total Quality Management, High-Performance Work Systems, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
- ASQ Certification and experience in an FDA-regulated environment is desired
- Excellent interpersonal skills a must
- Previous supervisory experience is a must
- Ability to use computers including Quality Windows, Excel, Access, etc.
- Ability to conduct all businesses in a planned, professional, and ethical manner
- Ability to treat people respectfully as individuals in a manner that is fair to both the individual and the Company
- Ability to demonstrate personal commitment to continuous improvement
