    Salary: $80k - $130K

    Our client a poly flexible film manufacturing company is seeking a Technical Director of flexible film technology

    The ideal candidate will ensure the optimization of process design, operations, training, and implementation. They must be able to improve industrial processes in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability.

    Also, they will be responsible for R&D & Quality staff located at each site, overseeing the development as well as the implementation of all projects while working with site managers located internally and externally at customers' sites.

    Responsibilities:

    • Traveling from time to time on official duties
    • Discussing with customers their product specifications, storage of the said product, and applying that knowledge toward designing modified atmosphere packaging, resulting in extending the shelf life of the said product.
    • Leading, coaching & implementing lean 6 sigma through collaborative team effort on site and improving overall plant performance, and reducing waste
    • Should be familiar with SQF
    • Leading projects such as equipment installations, upgrading current systems and processes
    • Leading and developing sustainable packaging and the best practices that coincide with the development of those innovative solutions to the environment
    • Ensuring the company complies with company and industry standards

    Skills:

    • Job/field experience is accepted In-lieu of formal education
    • 5+ years’ experience of applicable quality and manufacturing management, a Bachelor’s degree (Engineering or Chemistry is preferred)
    • Strong working knowledge of equipment and materials commonly used in manufacturing
    • Proven ability to identify and lead the implementation of meaningful quality and process improvements
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work with all levels of the organization and with suppliers and customers
    • Total Quality Management, High-Performance Work Systems, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
    • Excellent interpersonal skills are a must
    • Ability to lead a multi-functional team and excellent computer skills
    • A good to a firm understanding of various manufacturing processes, i.e., blown film, cast film & co-extrusion.
    • A good to a firm understanding of extrudates, coatings, adhesives, and films commonly found within the flexible packaging industry today
    • A good to firm understanding of process capability (CPK) statistical tools measuring the output of a process and how to improve that process
    • Knowledge of MVTR & OTR of various films commonly used within the flexible packaging industry today is a must
