    Our client a poly flexible film manufacturing company is seeking a Flexible Film Manufacturing Engineer.

    The ideal candidate will work internally and externally with the company and clients’ manufacturing sites to improve efficiencies, maximize throughput, increase uptime, and reduce downtime and waste.

    The role of the successful candidate will be to visit customers’ manufacturing sites, evaluate their manufacturing setup, and make the necessary adjustments to ensure that the end products are successfully manufactured and can be used on the customers' machines. The Engineer will also fine-tune our client’s machine to match up production.

    The candidate should have experience with some of these poly flexible film manufacturing machine brands: Multipack, Tiromat, Ilapack, Hassion, Matrix, Triangle, Modern, Bosh Filler, Ford Holmatic, Circle, Khs, Bosh Wrapper, Ilapack,

    Other responsibilities are:

    • Traveling from time to time on official duties
    • Undertaking standalone service calls/audits at the locations of customers’ equipment and film, recording issues, submitting field reports that are accurate and are expeditiously done
    • Evaluating processes using the DAMIC process targeted at improving the overall performance and reducing run waste both internally & externally.
    • Creating best practices to improve production rates without negatively impacting the cost of quality
    • Working with a multi-functional team across all 3 shifts 24/5
    • Enhancing interpersonal relations as part of the team concept

    Skills:

    • Job/field experience accepted instead of formal education
    • A good to firm understanding of VFF & HFF packaging equipment (See field equipment list above)
    • Experience with cast die extruder and various resins associated
    • Good mechanical skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues
    • Intermediate to a firm understanding of polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) (Anyadike) & metalized films
    • Intermediate to a firm understanding of manufacturing process; blown film, cast film & co-extrusion
    • Intermediate to a firm understanding of flexographic printing including inks
    • Intermediate to a firm understanding of adhesive laminating & slitting
    • Proven project management
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work with all levels of the organization and with suppliers and customers.
    • Total Quality Management, High-Performance Work Systems, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
    • Excellent interpersonal skills are a must
    • Ability to use computer programs including AutoCAD, Excel, Access, etc.
    • Some exposure to heat, noise, solvents, but none present to the extent it becomes objectionable.
    • Plant safety rules apply at all times
    • Conduct all business in a planned, professional, and ethical manner.
