BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION

As our new mobile designer at SurePrep, you will be part of the Product Team and work closely with the development team. Your primary goals will be to design the next generation of mobile websites, apps and other mobile interfaces across multiple platforms such as iOS, Android, Windows, and mobile web.

It is a full-time position and you will play a vital role in gathering and evaluating user requirements and translating the concepts into user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes and user stories for our growing number of software products. The position requires significant cross functional interaction with the UI/UX lead designer, product owners, business analysts, engineers, QA and other stakeholders (onshore and offshore).

SurePrep is the leader in 1040 tax automation for CPA firms. We provide innovative, comprehensive, and productive 1040 tax automated solutions that include scan and populate with an optional OCR verification service, outsourcing and a two-time award-winning mobile solution that eliminates the paper organizer. Our solutions are utilized by over 30,000 tax professionals at CPA firms large and small, ranging across the spectrum from Big 4 firms to sole practitioners.

QUALIFICATION

• Three to five years of experience

• Digital portfolio

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.

• Expert level skills in Adobe Suite, InvisionApp, and other relevant design tools.

• BS in interaction design, human-computer interaction, graphic design or other relevant fields is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop intuitive, usable, and engaging interactions and visual designs for mobile.

• Provide strategic thinking and leadership.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the design process

• Participate in the development process from definition, through design, build, test, release, and maintenance.

• Stay abreast of UX trends and look for creative ideas and inspiration in parallel analogous worlds.

• Research and track advancements in mobile application design patterns.

• Break any design problem down into viable actionable chunks and solve them with clarity and precision.

• Staying in the loop and on top of the latest standards, changes, trends in the mobile design field.

• Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs

• Collaborate with other co-located and remote (India) team members and stakeholders

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments.

• Team spirit; be excited about collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders.

• Excellent problem-solving skills.

• Deep understanding of Apple’s human interface design guidelines, Android design and other mobile platform designs, including Google’s material design.

• Prioritizes user experience above all and is eager to prove its value.

• Finds ways to simplify despite business challenges and technical complexities.

• Maintains a positive working environment in the face of challenges.

• Able to manage multiple assignments with personal accountability for time and budget.

Company Description

TaxCaddy is a product developed in-House at SurePrep LLC for iPhones, Android, web and tablets. TaxCaddy provides web interface to CPA and Consumer. A mobile interface for consumers only with CPA mobile APP on the roadmap. TaxCaddy makes gathering tax documents and sharing them with CPA easy. TaxCaddy retrieves 1099s, 1098s and W-2s automatically. Upload or snap photos of tax documents year-round and store them with bank vault security. Electronically sign tax documents and connect directly to various financial institutions.
