Job Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services, the Scheduler is responsible for the internal scheduling of patients for surgery and interventional pain management procedures.
Essential Job Functions
Schedules hospital based medical procedures for patients with appropriate provider and time/location slot, utilizing appropriate scheduling code.
Provides effective communication when working with hospital and clinic employees to ensure a cohesive working relationship.
Enters notes/special instructions needed for each procedure on the electronically generated surgery/pain schedule.
Provides accurate, detailed directional information and takes appropriate action when responding to patient questions.
Assists other members of the department as needed
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High School diploma or GED required
1 -3 years experience in healthcare scheduling or equivalent combination of education and medical terminology knowledge
Familiarity with EMR system
Working knowledge of CPSI preferred

Physical Requirements:
Physical movements include sitting, reaching, bending stooping and stretching.
Able to lift 10 lbs. without assistance.
Visual acuity is required to view and read computer monitor.
