JOB SUMMARY: Housekeeping personnel should perform all aspects of assigned tasks in a manner that optimize patient safety and reduce the likelihood of medical/health care errors. Candidate has to perform cleaning of all areas of the hospital according to policies and procedures and support and maintain a culture of safety and quality.
LOCATION: MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION TO LOCATION 1580 W. Lake St. Addison, IL 60101
HOURS: FULL TIME HOURS MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY - 8:00 AM TO 4:00 PM - Surgical days will be required to do extra times if needed.
PAY: $ 17.00 - $ 19.00 an hour
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Additional languages preferred. Not required.
QUALIFICATION AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
Three to six (3-6) months related experience and /or training. Will look at a combination of education and experience as well.
Adheres to HIPPA policy and ensures privacy, confidentiality and patient rights are respected at all times.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the facility.
Performs routine cleaning of operating rooms, recovery room, corridors, patient changing rooms, rest rooms, and other assigned areas.
Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to the procedure.
Should use and maintains equipment properly.
Always introduces self to patients, families and visitors
Report safety hazards as appropriate.
Transport trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
Replenish supplies.
Follow all infection control practices including hand hygiene techniques, standard precautions and isolation precautions.
Maintain set quality standards when performing job duties.
Ability to work on his/her own with normal supervision.
Observe safety precautions at all times.
Follow all policies and procedures for infection control.
Able to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Follows appropriate dress code of wearing scrubs.
Keeps utility and storage rooms clean and orderly condition.
Replaces soiled drapes and cubicle curtains.
Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours, occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds.
Must follow all Universal Precautions for the Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens
