No of positions:1 40 hours per week

Location: Northridge, CA, 91325

Pay rate: $35-$40 hourly

Job description:

Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.

Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.

Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.

Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitors/tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

One or more of the following required:

Surgical Tech credential from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to the hire date or job transfer date.

Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to the hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.

Unit Notes

Must be able to do both CV and Regular OR cases

• Unit: OR/CVOR

• suites: 12 suites for general OR, 1 suite (CVOR), and 1 hybrid room

• of cases per day: 14 cases per day on average

• Certs/Tech certified: techs must have BLS and they must be certified
• Common types of cases : Regular OR - ortho (total joints), gyn, urology, trauma surgeries, candidates must have trauma, ortho, and general experience, ENT, general, some plastics, vascular, neuro, robotics (Da Vinci) etc they do not do transplants. CVOR - open heart, valves, thoracotomy, trauma, etc.
