What You’ll Do
As a Surgical Technologist II, you’ll play a key role in providing exceptional perioperative care, working closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include:
Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment throughout procedures.
Accurately pass instruments and supplies during surgeries.
Perform surgical counts of sponges, needles, and instruments per policy.
Monitor and ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols.
Support patient safety and follow all regulatory and hospital guidelines.
Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs and improve outcomes.
Participate in educational activities and continuous learning opportunities.
Qualifications
Required Education & Certification
High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential from the NBSTSA.
OR completion of military surgical tech training with equivalent experience.
AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (or must obtain upon hire).
Licensure & Registration
Must be registered with the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
LPN license only required for grandfathered employees.
Experience
No prior experience required—new grads welcome!
