Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Certified Surgical Scrub Tech to join our operating room team. The Certified Surgical Scrub Tech is responsible for assisting surgeons during procedures, ensuring a sterile environment, and maintaining surgical equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic techniques, and patient safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
- Maintain a sterile field and adhere to strict aseptic techniques.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient procedure.
- Handle and care for surgical instruments properly to prevent damage.
- Monitor and maintain an accurate count of instruments, sponges, and supplies before, during, and after procedures.
- Follow infection control policies and safety procedures to protect patients and staff.
- Collaborate with nurses and other surgical team members to optimize patient outcomes.
- Assist with room turnover and sterilization processes between cases.

Required Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program OR a minimum of two years of surgical technologist experience.
- Previous experience in an ambulatory surgery center preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with surgical procedures (eye procedures preferred).
- Candidates must hold current certification as a Surgical Technologist in accordance with Texas state regulations.
